Savory Scones with Einkorn
Whole Grain Savory Scones using fresh-milled Einkorn flour featuring minced peppers, onions, garlic, and grated cheddar. Delicious!
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups whole grain einkorn flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tsp minced garlic, onion, and peppers combined
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS:
- In a medium sized bowl, blend together Einkhorn flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Once blended, cut in the cold butter. Grating it with a cheese grater will make it much easier than trying to use a pastry cutter!
- In a smaller bowl combine eggs, milk, garlic, onion, peppers, and cheese.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Scoop out 1/4 cup sized balls onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with milk.
- Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.
