Whole Grain Pie Crust

This whole grain pie crust recipe is super simple and delicious. Our fresh milled soft white wheat flour performs beautifully in pastries like this!

Makes 2 crusts

INGREDIENTS:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cool the flour in the fridge for 15 minutes after milling.
  2. Whisk together the flour and salt, then work in the lard until mixture is fully combined.
  3. Add ice water and knead until the mixture forms a ball of dough.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and divide dough into two equal portions. Using a rolling pin, roll out each piece 1/8" thick. Dusting with flour as needed to keep dough from sticking.
  5. Roll the pie crust into a 9" pie plate. Trimming the edges to leave a ½" overhang.
